Rita Ottervik

Rita Irene Ottervik (born September 11, 1966 in Hitra) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party and mayor of Trondheim since 2003.

She has a background as secretary in the Workers' Youth League and has been political advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister under Thorbjørn Jagland (1996–1997). Before becoming mayor she was a member of the city council since 1999.[1]

Ottervik was considered a possible candidate for a cabinet post following the elections of 2005 and 2009, but has both time declined such offers in favor of continuing her job as mayor.[2]
